Solar Impulse Label

Jellyfishbot Solar Impulse
To receive the “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” Label, the Jellyfishbot was thoroughly assessed by a pool of independent experts according to three criteria covering the main topics of Feasibility, Environmental Impact and Profitability.

IADYS has submitted the Jellyfishbot twice, and the solution has been awarded the Label in both 2020 and 2023, recognizing its continuous evolution and lasting contribution to sustainable innovation.

All labelled solutions are part of the Solar Impulse Foundation Efficient Solutions portfolio that is presented to decision-makers in business and government by Bertrand Piccard, Chairman of the Solar Impulse Foundation.

The aim of this initiative is to encourage the adoption of more ambitious environmental targets and fast-track the implementation of these solutions on a large scale.

12- Responsible consumption & production

The Jellyfishbot contributes to SDG 12 by promoting responsible consumption and production through the collection and sorting of aquatic waste for recycling, the development of circular economy value chains, and the use of mostly local, French and European suppliers, thereby reducing environmental and social impacts across the value chain.

13- Climate Action

The Jellyfishbot contributes to SDG 13 by reducing the carbon footprint of clean-up operations through its fully electric and highly energy-efficient design, the long lifetime and increasing use of second-life batteries, eco-design and reuse of parts, and circular solutions that incorporate recycled and recyclable materials into its collection equipment.

14- Life below water

The Jellyfishbot contributes to SDG 14 by protecting marine and aquatic ecosystems through early collection of waste and hydrocarbons, enhanced monitoring and water-quality measurement capabilities, and new detection functions that help prevent pollution from spreading, while raising awareness about safeguarding aquatic environments.

17- Partnership for the goals

The Jellyfishbot contributes to SDG 17 by building a strong network of partnerships with local authorities, universities, environmental organizations, inclusive employment structures and circular-economy actors, strengthening research, public awareness and the co-development of sustainable solutions to protect aquatic environments.
